The Homestead has a special charm that many longtime visitors will recognize, but recent renovations stripped away some of its original character. While the grounds are beautifully maintained, the lengthy walk from the parking lot to the room and a disappointing lack of pool access left me feeling underwhelmed. The staff's response to issues could also improve, making this stay less than perfect for what I paid.

My stay at the Homestead was quite the adventure, especially walking through deep snow to find my room, but I appreciated the beautiful ice sculptures and fun activities. The rooms, however, felt outdated and not particularly well-maintained, and the overall service left much to be desired with several lapses. The amenities like the hot mineral pool seemed appealing, but I found other aspects disappointing, and I’m unsure if I’d return.
